You Will Live ✨
This morning started simply. I stepped outside to check on a little tree I’ve been trying to propagate. It wasn’t looking great—limp leaves, dry edges. Still, something in me stirred, and I found myself speaking to it with boldness:
"You will live and not die, in Jesus’ name. You will live."
It may have seemed small, but in that moment, I was declaring life by faith. I paused and even asked myself, “Do I actually believe this?”
And I answered quietly: Yes. I believe.
Then I went inside for my usual morning prayer time. I asked the Lord to help me discern His voice, to send the Holy Spirit to teach me His Word more clearly. I asked for eyes to see into the spiritual realm, and for boldness to be a light in the days ahead. I prayed for peace, for alignment, and for the courage to walk by faith no matter what I see.
As I prayed, I saw a vision: I was sitting in a boat, my heart racing. Then I saw Jesus extend His hand to me, just like He did to Peter in Scripture—and invite me to step out onto the water. The moment I took His hand, peace flooded me. The fear left. I felt steadied.
Then something happened that I can only describe as divinely orchestrated.
After praying, I opened a devotional a friend recently gave me—and it felt like it was written just for that very moment. The page read:
“My promises are more faithful and true than you have ever imagined. The power of My word has sustained you through your life and holds you near to My heart.
Even now, your heart beats because of My promise to you when you were conceived: “You will live.”
I sat there stunned.
This wasn’t just beautiful language—it was my story. I was born with a hole in my heart and kidney complications. Doctors weren’t sure what would happen. And yet, God had spoken over me, even then:
“You will live.”
I had just spoken those very words over the little tree outside. I had just prayed for understanding of His Word, for deeper discernment, for a faith that could rise above fear. And now here was God—responding to all of it in one breath, one page, one promise.
The devotional continued:
“My words are the very power of life. They are worth believing...
Walk upon the water of My word and trust in My promises more than sight or human skill.”
Just minutes earlier, I had seen Jesus invite me to walk on water. And now this page was saying the same thing, almost word for word.
It ended with a reminder that gripped me:
“Never underestimate the power of the word upon your lips. It is alive and true. It is your sword and shield. A mighty weapon of dunamis power.”
Everything about that moment reminded me that the Word of God isn’t just something I read, it’s something that reads me. It speaks directly into my life, my story, my prayers, my past, and my future.
The Living Word Still Speaks
This morning wasn’t about a tree, or even just about my peace. It was about God reminding me that His Word is still alive, and He sees me. He hears every whispered prayer. He knows my heart, my history, and even the little areas where I’m testing my own faith.
It was a call to walk on the water of His Word. To step away from comfort and fear. To let faith rise again.
Maybe you’ve been asking God to speak.
Maybe you’ve been afraid to step out.
Maybe you’re wondering if He really sees your situation.
He does.
He’s still speaking over you:
“You will live.”
“Come.”
“Walk.”
Reflection
Take a moment to pause and ask yourself:
Where am I still holding onto fear or control?
What is Jesus inviting me to step out of—or into?
Do I really believe that His Word is more real than what I see?
You may be standing in a situation that looks dry, lifeless, or uncertain. But His Word has not failed. His promises still breathe life. And He’s still calling you forward.
Prayer
Jesus,
Thank You for seeing me. Thank You for speaking over me before I was even born: “You will live.”
Help me believe that Your Word is alive and powerful, even when my circumstances seem weak.
Teach me to walk by faith, not by sight.
I give You my fear, my doubt, and every part of my heart that has forgotten how to trust.
Open my eyes to see what You’re doing. Open my ears to hear Your voice.
Let Your Word be the water I walk on and the rock I stand on.
You are faithful—and I choose to believe.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
